Raising awareness for the May Day general strike

written 04/26/2026 by jackc

March in New York City on Workers' Day, May 1, 1909. Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. (digital. id. ggbain 03321)

Today I met some comrades at Just Book-ish in Dorchester for a Joe Tache for MA volunteer event. We enjoyed coffee, pastries and conversation, then hit the streets to put up posters for the general strike on May first. Stepping into local businesses I was happy to find how many folks were receptive to discussing the issues they're facing under the current administration, and learning more about Joe's campaign and the general strike. We were able to put up posters outside most of the businesses we visited, as well as on poles along the way.

International Workers' Day May 1; No school. No work. No shopping. Rally & March - JFK Federal Building - 3PM
